New Ashford Board of Health approves nursing contract increase, elects new chair. The board unanimously elected Helen Majchrowski as Chair following the resignation of Richard George; Emilee Gagliardi remains Vice Chair. The board approved a 4 percent increase to the public health nursing contract for fiscal year 2027.
Members also advanced preliminary negotiations with the Berkshire Board of Health Alliance for inspection services, with the alliance expected to submit a formal contract proposal; Washington, a comparable-sized regional town, pays $6,000 annually for similar services.
