Board of Health reviews state compliance and public health services.

New Ashford Board of Health unanimously approved prior minutes and heard state compliance briefing from Berkshire Public Health Alliance. Dan Hassett reviewed the Statewide Accelerated Public Health for Every Community Act, which requires training certifications for officials; Hassett estimated his own certifications cost $2,800. The board determined that certifying each member is not feasible and will comply through a combination of selective certifications or contracting with the Alliance.
Sophie Jannen, Public Health Nurse with the Alliance, outlined available services including vaccination clinics, wellness programs, and community education; the board will survey the town to gauge resident interest.
