New Ashford Select Board sets FY27 tax rate at $6.52, raising median tax bills. The Board set the rate on a $455,564 levy, up from $5.66 the previous year, raising the median single family home tax bill to $2,887 from $2,456. The School Committee amended its budget to $372,161.52, bringing the total town FY27 budget to $741,413, driven by higher student enrollment expected to continue for at least two more years.
The Board modified the Annual Town Meeting warrant to increase the MLP unforeseen repairs article to $15,000 for vegetation management and considered offsetting the levy with $30,000 from Free Cash, which would reduce the tax rate to $6.08.
