NEW ASHFORD — Select Board approves Community Development Block Grant program for housing aid. The Board unanimously backed participation in the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission program, which offers up to $70,000 per household for rehabilitation of heating, septic, wells, and de-leading, placing a 15-year lien on the property. The town pays no administrative costs; Clarksburg will handle that work.
The Board also unanimously approved purchase of a 24-inch electric snowblower for approximately $1,900 on the town credit card. The town was separately awarded a $5,000 ADA grant for Town Hall ramp repairs.
