New Ashford Select Board appoints Sylvester to Historical Commission, approves fire pool fee. Chair Jason Jayko, Board Member Mark Phelps, and MLP Manager Ken McInerney unanimously approved Stacy Sylvester's appointment to the Historical Commission and directed the Fire Department to charge the Springs $250 for swimming pool fills. Road Commissioner Keith Lacasse received authorization to use remaining winter roads funds for Ingraham Road repair and roads and bridges funds for Mallery Road work after Cargill reported no salt available in Westfield.
Fire Chief Frank Speth reported two calls within two days--a brush fire on Route 7 and a structure fire on Smith Road--with no communication or resource problems, but Jayko raised liability concerns about UTV towing by personal vehicle and will contact town insurance.
