Select Board approves Fire Station door repair authorization
misc · Meeting of February 21, 2026
New Ashford Select Board unanimously authorizes Fire Station door repair. Chair Jason Jayko, selectman Mark Phelps, and MLP Manager Ken McInerney approved purchase of a door shock absorber for $75 on motion by Phelps, seconded by McInerney. The board reaffirmed its prohibition on personal Fire Station use following a generator snow-clearing dispute with Fire Chief Frank Speth, who declined to have volunteers shovel.
Jayko cleared the area himself the next morning. In separate business, the town received $15,013 in CAFII funding for the MLP, and the board addressed furnace and plumbing issues at Town Hall.
